Today, my parents refused to let me visit my friend for spring break because I had to sit for puja. I am going away one week after spring break to do a one month medical course and must do a puja so that all goes well. TMDL
aww poor you..because puja is torture right? Nice priorities...-.-*
But Miss Priyam, the Creator Herself through Lord Krishn has denounced the followers who numb their senses by repeating sacred verses. Where good true friends gather, there is God. Let kids be kids, for a few days! It's all over so soon anyway. ...and, what is the value of prayer performed under compulsion? I know parents want to instill wholesome habits. But that only works on children, and even they are more impressed by our example than by our instructions.
Oh Priyam, Priyam - live and let live. This is not the place to be pointing fingers. TSK TSK.
Ah I love your comments guys-it gives me a chance to further explain myself. Mr. Fettslaab, I know of what you speak of, ofcourse I am against those who numb heir senses by repeating sacred verses rather than truly finding a personal belief. There is no value of prayer performed under compulsion, I'd rather not have any prayer than one done forcefully. But my claim was not to say the poster shouldn't go to have fun with his friends it was to merely point out where priorities lie. I would never suggest one to forcefully do puja for that, as I see it, is disgusting. As my mother says, religion is personal. Follow teachings in the Bhagvad Gita according to what you understand of it, rathar than what people tell you to do. Krishna did not ask for beings to pray in hopes of atoning for sin. And I'm a "Kid", younger than the poster indeed. Let kids be kids. Yes. I always knew I was wierd.
